Jason's c. 1850 Violin

Purchased in 2001 from Kamimoto Strings in San Jose.  The owner, renowned luthier
Hideo Kamimoto, believes it to be of English origin.  It has a full, sweet tone. 

 

Here you can see the gorgeous flame maple.  (A/k/a/ "tiger" or "fiddleback" maple).
