Osage Orange Bowl, 1999

I turned a carving mallet for a friend from some "Texas Bodark" he sent me. It was so beautifully figured and amazingly chatoyant that I couldn't wait to do a bowl from the remaining piece. Osage orange, a super-hard wood, is also known as "Bois d'arc" or "Bow Wood".
