About My Eclipse Photos

These photographs were taken by me, Jay Keller, an amateur photographer and novice eclipsophile.  The July 11, 1991 total eclipse was photographed from a schoolyard in Sayulita, Mexico, a small farming and fishing village about 40 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, and about 3 miles inside the path of totality during the eclipse.

The camera was a 35mm Nikon 8008, using a 600mm Nikon lens system consisting of a Nikon 300mm f/4 lens and a Nikon 2x teleconverter.  The camera was fitted with a right-angle viewfinder, because the eclipse was almost directly overhead.

The film used was Kodachrome 64 slide film.

The slides were scanned by Kodalux to create a Photo-CD. The digital images were then transformed by me into .GIF and .JPG files using Adobe Photoshop.
